SYNTHETIC VISION TERRAIN AND OBSTACLE DATA

Terrain alerting on the synthetic vision display corresponds to the red and yellow X

symbols on the Map Page.

In some instances, a terrain or obstacle alert may be issued with no conﬂict shading

displayed on the synthetic vision. In these cases, the conﬂict is outside the Synthetic

Vision ﬁeld of view.

Obstacles are represented on the synthetic vision display by standard two-

dimensional tower symbols found on the Inset Map and Navigation Map. Unlike the

Map Page, obstacles on the synthetic vision display do not change colors to warn of

potential conﬂict with the aircraft’s ﬂight path until the obstacle is associated with an

actual terrain alert. Obstacles greater than 1000 feet below the aircraft altitude are

not shown.
