About Custom Avoidances

Custom avoidances allow you to avoid specic

areas and sections of road. You can enable and

disable custom avoidances as needed.

Avoiding an Area

Select Settings > Navigation > Custom

Avoidances.

If necessary, select Add New Custom

Avoidance.

Select Add Avoid Area.

Select the upper-left corner of the area to

avoid, and select Next.

Select the lower-right corner of the area to

avoid, and select Next.

The selected area is shaded on the map.

Select Done.

Avoiding a Road

Select Settings > Navigation > Custom

Avoidances.

Select Add Avoid Road.

Select the starting point of the section of road

to avoid, and select Next.

Select the ending point of the road section,

and select Next.

Select Done.

Disabling a Custom Avoidance

You can disable a custom avoidance without

deleting it.

Select Settings > Navigation > Custom

Avoidances�

Select an avoidance.

Select > Disable.

Deleting Custom Avoidances

Select Settings > Navigation > Custom

Avoidances.

Select an option:

• To delete all custom avoidances, select

• To delete one custom avoidance, select the

avoidance, and select

> Delete.

Enabling Advanced Detours

Select Settings > Navigation > Advanced

Detours.

Taking a Detour Around Specied Areas

You can take a detour for a specied distance

along your route or detour around specic roads.

This is useful if you encounter construction zones,

closed roads, or poor road conditions.

Enable Advanced Detours.

Select a destination, and select Go! (page 8).

From the map, select > Detour.

Select Next �5mi on Route, Next 2mi on

Route, Next 5mi on Route, or Detour by

Road(s) on Route.

If necessary, select a road to detour around.
